Smile! George Shaw has your best financial interests in mind.
“The most gratifying part of my job as director of investment marketing is seeing the smile on the face of a satisfied client,” says George Shaw, senior vice president at The Paducah Bank and Trust Company. George began his career in the banking industry back in 1970 at Peoples First National Bank. He then took his financial career on the road, working for banks in Chicago, Nashville, and Bowling Green, Kentucky. George served as president of Bowling Green Bank and Trust Company from 1982 to 1993. At that time, he became president of Peoples First National Bank and Trust Company in Paducah. In 1999, George joined Hilliard Lyons as a financial advisor and in August of this year, he became the managing broker of PB Investment Services.
“Investing people’s money is not just about where the best rates are or what the best terms might be,” George believes, “it’s about understanding people’s lives and the reasons they are investing. At the various stages of our lives, we have very different viewpoints of how our money should be working for us. That’s where the services of trusted financial advisors come in, and I can assure you that the people at Paducah Bank are just that. Integrity, conscientiousness, and the willingness to work with each individual client, however long it takes to successfully create and implement a personal plan, are the daily strategies we live by in the investment area.”
George sees it as a personal philosophy of life. “Treat everyone as you would want to be treated,” George says. It’s a simple concept that transcends its philosophical foundation to a workplace ethic that simply can’t be bettered. “We take each client’s port- folio and do the best we can for that individual.” Who could ask for more?
Now when George isn’t living up to those high ideals, he’s busy serving his community in a host of ways and means. George is a past president of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bowling Green Chamber. He has served on the board of directors of the United Way in both Bowling Green and Paducah. He is a member of the Rotary Club and served on its board of directors from June 2001 to June 2003. George is a founding member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation of West Kentucky. For the past three years, he has served as president of the Foundation. George and his wife, Liz (who is a financial administrator for Paducah Tilghman High School) are members of Grace Episcopal Church.
So what does that leave time for? Well, since his two sons, Tom and Andy, have left the nest, George does manage to find time for a little rest and relaxation on the golf course, on the lake, or in the duck blind! If you would like to talk with George Shaw about the investment services at Paducah Bank, you can reach him at 575.6627 or at email@example.com.
