Bill Schroeder was a collector, quilt maker, publisher, and community visionary. He founded Collector Books in 1969, producing bestselling books in the field of antiques. In 1984, Bill and his wife, Meredith, founded the American Quilter’s Society and initiated the AQS Quilt Show and Contest. In 1991, the Schroeders built the non-profit Museum of the American Quilter’s Society. In 2014, by an act of Congress, the museum was designated The National Quilt Museum. Bill served on numerous business and civic boards, including the holding company board of The Paducah Bank & Trust Company.
