Guess was selected as an ACE award recipient for the production of its WOW! Magazine and for the success of the Paducah Bank Facebook page.  She won two of the 17 individual awards.

“Paducah Bank gets it,” wrote the editor of “For a community bank to have 5,700+ Facebook fans says a lot. What’s the secret? Ditching the decimals and engaging with neighbors. From ballet to basketball, from chili dinners to charity drives, the bank’s social media team—led by Senior Vice President of Marketing Susan Guess—focuses on its outreach programs, with an occasional nod to things like Saturday banking. It’s involvement in and sponsorship of community events maintains its human face in social media.”

Guess is flattered by the compliment and the bank’s work in social media is confirmed by the organization’s recognition of its success. “This is a valid assessment of what we strive to accomplish with the utilization of social media every day at Paducah Bank. Our goal is to be more than an institution processing financial transactions for our customers. We hope to engage them in a relationship both through our presence on social media and via our bank publication, WOW! Magazine.  In both of these media, we seek to recognize that our community and our bank is part of a story that continues to evolve for each of us individually and for all of us as a total community of citizens. We find great satisfaction in being such an integral part of our city and county. But it’s also always really nice to be honored for our work.”

Ragan Communications “Set out to build an awards program unlike anything we’ve done before. We wanted to honor those who continue to push the boundaries of our field. The communicators who deserve the title of ace communicator have overcome obstacles, did what clients thought couldn’t be done, got unheard-of results with small budgets and achieved other similar wonders.”
