We have just learned that Kentucky has now officially been DECLARED for statewide disaster certification which will make small businesses and private non-profits affected negatively by COVID-19 pandemic eligible for SBA disaster loans.  SBA staff is recommending that small business owners begin working NOW on completing necessary application forms.

The loan process generally takes three to four weeks. However, due to the volume of applications, SBA  warns the process could take longer.  The borrower must note the application is being made because of the Coronavirus driven economic injury and they must have a physical location in the declared disaster area. The loan interest rate is 3.75% for small businesses and 2.75% for non-profits over a 30-year term. The borrower will have a 1-year deferment of their first payment.
