Paducah Bank presented a check to Paducah Cooperative Ministry on January 9 for $7,750 to support the work of the organization in feeding the hungry in Paducah-McCracken County.

“Four years ago, we began a partnership with our customers to support our commitment to the needs of the community,” said Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. “Our Swipe and Serve project allows our customers to help us help those who a...re hungry in our city and county. With each signature-based debit card transaction that our customers make, we set aside a contribution to a local organization that helps feed the hungry. This is our fourth quarter contribution of 2017, and we have once again surpassed our quarterly goal of $7,500! In total, Paducah Bank provided more than $30,000 to feed the hungry in 2017 and over $150,000 in the Swipe and Serve program since 2014. This is a fantastic testament to the people who make Paducah Bank the kind of community bank that we can all be very proud of.”

“Paducah Bank continues to be a great supporter of our work in the community,” said Heidi Suhrheinrich, Executive Director of Paducah Cooperative Ministry. “PCM assisted with emergency groceries on 5,576 occasions in 2017. On average more than 460 households a month receive emergency groceries from PCM thanks to our generous community and the terrific people at Paducah Bank. Not only did they provide monetary help, they also provided much needed manpower and service hours – stocking shelves, distributing groceries, etc. We are very grateful for their help.”

“We will soon announce the Swipe and Serve beneficiaries who will receive funds in 2018,” said Paducah Bank Marketing Director Susan Guess. We hope our customers will continue their good work from last year so we can provide a strong donation to these deserving organizations.”
