In May at their annual conference, the Worksite Wellness Council of Louisville presented awards to organizations that strive to create cultures of health through wellness policies and programs for their employees. Paducah Bank was presented with the Gold Award for Worksite Wellness for the 5th
year, and also was one of four organizations to receive the special Mayor’s “Fleur de Lis” award the for companies who excel in their wellness efforts by hitting their wellness targets/goals. Criteria for the Fleur de Lis award includes having top management support, program variety, community engagement and targeted improvement increases. Paducah Bank won in the category for small businesses with up to 150 employees, and is the only recipient of the award from outside the Louisville area.
Senior Vice President and Director of Talent & Culture Maurie McGarvey says, “Paducah Bank is committed to providing our teammates with resources and tools that will help enhance their overall wellness. We are deeply grateful that the Worksite Wellness Council of Louisville has recognized Paducah Bank & Trust Company as an organization focused on co-creating with its teammates a workplace culture that honors and values the whole person.”
In a statement from the Wellness Council, Paducah Bank was praised for their commitment to creating a culture of health and wellness from senior leadership down to front-line employees. “They implement the 7 pillars of health, which includes not only physical health, but financial health, emotional health, and mindfulness to name a few. They provide 24/7 private medical care access to all employees, spouses, and dependents at no cost to employees. This has led to decreased emergency room visits for non-urgent medical care, leading to a decrease in health insurance claims. Paducah Bank focuses on removing barriers that prevent their employees from taking care of themselves and their families.”
“Our team is committed, driven and very healthy!” says Mardie Herndon, President & COO of the bank. “During the last four years we have continually investing in a unique Wellness Plan for our teammates. The recognition of the award is extremely meaningful but the greatest appreciation of our efforts is seen through the engagement of our team and the healthy choices that are being made daily.”
