Paducah Bank presented a check to River City Mission (RCM) for $8,000 to support the work of the organization in feeding the hungry in Paducah-McCracken County. Paducah Bank donated $7,778 last year to RCM as a part of their Swipe and Serve project.

"Two years ago, we began a partnership with our customers to support our commitment to the needs of the community,” said Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. “Our Swipe and Serve project allows our customers to help us help those who are hungry in our city and county. With each signature-based debit card transaction that our customers make, we set aside a contribution to a local organization that helps feed the hungry. This is our fourth quarter contribution of 2015 and we have once again surpassed our quarterly goal of $7,500!  This is a fantastic testament to the people who make Paducah Bank the kind of community bank that we can all be very proud of.”

"This kind of support from our local community is absolutely vital to our mission,” said Shirley Barlow, director of River City Mission. “We are totally reliant on donations at the Mission, so we were incredibly happy when Paducah Bank announced this project and chose us to be one of its recipients. This significant donation will provide much needed supplies and services to the families we serve every day of the year. I am very proud to be a part of such a community-minded bank, both personally and professionally. It’s obvious to me and to many in our community that Paducah Bank is truly a community partner and truly a local bank!”

"We are already planning for next year's Swipe and Serve program,” said Susan Guess, senior vice president of marketing for Paducah Bank. “We have had a record number of requests from organizations for 2016 and will be choosing four recipients from those requests. Our goal is to be able to provide at least $7,500 to each of the four, but our hope is to continue our record of surpassing our goals. We need everyone’s help to ensure another strong donation year in 2016.”

In total, the Paducah Bank Swipe and Serve program contributed over $31,000 to feeding the hungry in our area in 2014 and over $32,000 in 2015.
