Paducah Bank Ice Cream Truck To Visit Reidland Elementary Today

The Paducah Bank Wow! Wagon begins its 11th season of handing out free ice cream on Monday, April 24.  It's first visit will be to 21 third graders at Reidland Elementary School.  The truck will meet students at 11:45 a.m. outside of the school cafeteria.

Marketing Director Susan Guess has been visiting with the class for several weeks by reading to them and joining them for lunch.

"These nine year olds have been great listeners and have showed kindness to me and to their classmates," said Guess. "I thought they would make the perfect taste testers. I expect they will give us honest feedback on what is their favorite cold treats.  They will get to climb into the truck and into the freezer to select their ice cream of choice."

Paducah Bank's ice cream truck has handed out more than $60,000 worth of ice cream over the last decade to schools, organizations, churches, and businesses.

The truck received a facelift over the winter with a new look and new shiny wheels.  Guess said the Wow! Wagon also has new speakers.  "We look forward to joining our very youngest to the most senior ice cream customers with a lot of eating, laughing, singing and dancing."

Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon said you can always count on them to be a different kind of bank. "We are proud to be the bank of choice with the largest market share for six straight years.  We credit that loyalty to our commitment to our customers and to our belief that banking should be fun.  We look forward to a great summer visiting with our customers and our friends."
