The Paducah native is a graduate of McCracken County High School. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a degree in integrated strategic communication degree with a minor in community and leadership development. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
 
Poat was a 2020 Paducah Bank summer intern and volunteers at Cassidy's Cause. She is engaged to Landon Davis and is the daughter of Dr. Wade and Angie Poat of Paducah.
