Barry Smith has been named director of wealth management, a newly created senior leadership role within The Paducah Bank and Trust Company. In his new role, Smith will be responsible for coordinating and leading the combined efforts of private banking, trust, and Paducah Financial Consultants at Paducah Bank.  He will also continue to serve as a key relationship manager and aggressively work to expand the Paducah Bank presence within western Kentucky. Smith joined Paducah Bank in December as the director of private banking.

"Since Barry's arrival in December, we have seen a heightened sense of communication within our wealth management area and have celebrated several successes that exemplify the excellent opportunities we have to offer clients of Paducah Bank," said Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. "This change is a natural progression as we align for future opportunities to provide creative and comprehensive solutions to those we serve. Our new wealth management structure is unique to our market and will provide a distinct opportunity to share the Paducah Bank vision with a powerful common voice."

Prior to beginning his banking career with Union Planters in 2000, Smith had more than 20 years of professional sales and management experience across the industries of food/beverage distribution and insurance. He joined Regions Bank in Paducah in 2006 and served as the market president for Regions Bank of Western Kentucky since that time. Smith is active within our community and maintains leadership roles with the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Paducah, Board of Directors for the Luther F. Carson Center for the Performing Arts, and serves as Finance Committee Chair for Broadway United Methodist Church.
