Paducah Bank Presents $7800 to River City Mission

Paducah Bank presented a check to River City Mission (RCM) for $7,800 to support the work of the organization in feeding the hungry in Paducah-McCracken County. To date, Paducah Bank has donated $23,579 to RCM through the Swipe and Serve project. Almost $127,000 has been donated by Paducah Bank to local organizations that feed the hungry since the Swipe and Serve project began.

“Three years ago, we began a partnership with our customers to support our commitment to the needs of the community,” said Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. “Our Swipe and Serve project allows our customers to help us help those who are hungry in our city and county. With each signature-based debit card transaction that our customers make, we set aside a contribution to a local organization that helps feed the hungry. This is our third quarter contribution of 2017, and we have once again surpassed our quarterly goal of $7,500!  This is a fantastic testament to the people who make Paducah Bank the kind of community bank that we can all be very proud of.”

“This kind of support from our local community is absolutely vital to our mission,” said Shirley Barlow, director of River City Mission. “We are totally reliant on donations at the Mission, so we were incredibly happy when Paducah Bank announced this project and chose us to be one of its recipients. This significant donation will provide much needed supplies and services to the families we serve every day of the year. I am very proud to be a part of such a community-minded bank, both personally and professionally. It’s obvious to me and to many in our community that Paducah Bank is truly a community partner and truly a local bank!”

Paducah Bank is seeking applications from local charitable groups who are committed to feeding the hungry in our area. If your group would like to be a Swipe and Serve recipient, please email a profile of your group to susan@paducahbank.com by December 25. We will be selecting four recipients for 2018, and those who were selected in previous years are eligible to reapply.
