The Board of Directors of Leadership Kentucky recently announced the 55 participants chosen from communities across the Commonwealth for its 30th Class. Among those selected is Paducah Bank’s very own President & COO, Mardie Herndon!
The class will travel across Kentucky this year for seven monthly sessions (June through December). From their opening retreat at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg, to Louisville, Owensboro, Frankfort, Eddyville, Paducah, Ashland, Richmond, and Lexington, they will go on an incredible journey to see and learn about Kentucky.
Locations for class sessions vary from year to year. Topics covered during this year’s sessions will be Leadership, Kentucky History, Education, Healthcare, Government, Energy, Economic Development, Public Relations, Natural Resources and Environment. Arts, Culture, and Tourism are included in each session by our host communities and the optional activities offered.
Leadership Kentucky, created in 1984 as a non-profit educational organization, brings together a selected group of people that possess a broad variety of leadership abilities, career accomplishments, and volunteer activities to gain insight into complex issues facing the state. Our goal is to prepare our participants to take an active role in advancing the state for the common good. Leadership Kentucky graduates bring a fresh and informed perspective to their communities and companies, serving as important participants in the unified effort to shape Kentucky’s future.
Leadership Kentucky was the fourth statewide leadership program developed in the United States, and celebrates its 31th Anniversary during 2015. We salute our 1,800+ alumnae across the Commonwealth and beyond for their contributions.
