A press release from our friends at the United Way:
Paducah Bank is once again stepping up to the plate to fill a need in our community. Paducah Bank is generously sponsoring the United Way Reading Partners and Literacy Support (PALS) program. The United Way Reading PALS program is the only large-scale, one-on-one mentoring program in Paducah-McCracken County. The goal of the program is to improve students’ reading levels and positively impact student behavior. Adult mentors meet with students once a week to read and eat lunch together. In the 2014-2015 school year the Reading PALS program served 135 students in seven schools throughout Paducah and McCracken County. Through Paducah Bank’s sponsorship, more students and schools can be served by this effective program.
Paducah Bank and the United Way of Paducah-McCracken County have had a long-time partnership. For many years, Paducah Bank has been one of the top ten supporters of the United Way’s annual campaign. Through this partnership, Paducah Bank and its employees have had a large impact on Paducah-McCracken County. Without the generosity of Paducah Bank, the United Way would not be as successful in positively impacting education, income and health throughout our community.
In addition to contributing through the United Way’s annual campaign, Paducah Bank has been the title sponsor for the annual United Way 5K for the past twenty years. Paducah bank has also been the sponsor for the United Way’s annual school supply drive, Stuff the Bus, for the past three years.
Paducah Bank’s commitment and determination to give back to the community is second to none. The United Way greatly appreciates their support and partnership in positively impacting our community through education, income and health.
