Paducah Bank Compliance Officer Earns National Certification

jennifer wyatt photoJennifer Wyatt, Compliance Officer for The Paducah Bank and Trust Company, was recently awarded the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, in Washington, DC.

The CRCM designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of bank regulatory compliance. To qualify for the CRCM certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the compliance profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CRCM exam covers regulatory requirements as they relate to credit, deposits/securities, safety and soundness, information reporting, and corporate responsibility.

Financial services professionals, working through the Institute of Certified Bankers, initiated the CRCM designation and eight others in order to establish meaningful standards of knowledge in specialty areas of the financial services industry. ICB certifications formally recognize those who meet these standards and meet professional continuing education and development requirements.

Jennifer has been a valued member of the Paducah Bank team since joining the bank in 2001. She began her career as Deposit Operations Specialist and moved into the role of Fraud Control Officer in 2006. She has served as Compliance Officer for the bank since 2012. In addition to this latest accomplishment, Jennifer has also earned the designation of Accredited ACH Professional and Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer during her tenure at Paducah Bank. She is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.

“This is a pretty big deal in the compliance world,” says Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. “In fact, Paducah Bank has never had a Compliance Officer with such credentials! Jennifer has worked hard to achieve this and other certifications since joining our Paducah Bank team. Her continued education and certifications not only make her a better Compliance Officer, they demonstrate the commitment from our board of directors and senior management to maintain a top notch compliance program at our bank. It’s the kind of commitment regulatory authorities like to see. We are very proud of Jennifer and look forward to what other exciting achievements the future holds for both her and Paducah Bank.”
