“It’s a social media jungle out there,” says Susan Guess, senior vice president of marketing at Paducah Bank and the mother of a 10-year-old. “I know first hand that it is a challenge to be knowledgeable about access to all the multi-media options there are for our children. It’s so difficult to stay on top of what’s new and what’s happening next in this fast-paced world of Internet communications. So Paducah Bank is offering an event that we hope will help parents learn more about how to manage this important part of our family’s daily life.”
On Tuesday, February 19, Paducah Bank is hosting a special WOW! MOM event called “Safety & Social Media: Monitoring Your Child’s Online Usage” at 6 p.m. at the Main Office at 555 Jefferson Street.
During this event, social media consultant Sarah Stewart Holland will share information and advice on the ever-changing social media landscape and how parents can stay ahead of the curve. Holland is a professional blogger with two young children of her own. “With a new app or social media platform popping up every second, it can seem intimidating,” said Holland.
Free childcare will be provided at the event, as well as refreshments for the children and adults. Paducah Bank is also live-streaming the event. At-home participants will be able to submit questions.
