Paducah Bank Is Looking for a Superhero

Paducah Bank is looking for a local superhero among youngsters in the community. The bank has initiated a superhero costume contest on Facebook for children aged 12 and under.

“We thought it would be fun to establish a superhero for our WOW brand,” said Susan Guess, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Paducah Bank. “We’re asking children and their parents to come up with a creative superhero costume that would represent the WOW brand of Paducah Bank. The entrants should take a photo of the child in the costume and then post it on Facebook by August 22.”

A team of judges will choose the winning costume and it will be announced in the next edition of the bank’s WOW! magazine. The winner will also receive a $200 cash prize and a personal visit from the bank’s WOW! Wagon ice cream truck.

“We think encouraging a sense of creativity among kids is a great way to expand their interest in the element of imagination and the arts,” Guess added. “It’s also a fun way for us to engage with the young people in our community and to show them that banks are interested in more than a bottom line. We’re also interested in the overall well-being of everyone in our city and county.”

Paducah Bank is Paducah’s only locally-owned bank. Paducah Bank has banking centers at 555 Jefferson, 2401 Broadway, 5542 Reidland Road, 2635 Lone Oak Road, and 4575 Pecan Drive.  A new branch on Paducah’s Southside will open this summer. The bank also has 11 ATMs throughout the community and employs 150 people.

Paducah Bank is currently the top small business lender and the top mortgage lender in Paducah/McCracken County. In 2010, the bank was named among the nation’s top 20 independent banks for performance in its asset size. The ranking is conducted by the Independent Community Bank Association.
